Introduction : Newspaper is a very useful thing. It plays a very important role in gaining knowledge. It tells us what happens in home and abroad. Nowadays we can't do without newspaper.
History of newspaper : Newspaper was first published in China. But some say that Venice in Europe was the first country to introduce newspaper. India Gazette was the first newspaper of this subcontinent. The first Bengali newspaper 'Samachar Darpan' was published from Sreerampur. At present Prothom Alo, Ittefaq, Janakantha, Jugantor, Inquilab, Daily Star, Ajker Kagoj, New Nation newspapers are very popular.
Kinds of newspaper : There are many kinds of newspaper. They are weekly, fortnightly and monthly. Most of the people read the dailies because they bring for us fresh and current news of the day. The others contain articles, poems, essays, stories, literature etc.
Usefulness/importance : The newspaper is a useful means of both pleasure and education. It tells us what is going on in our country and in foreign countries. We can learn various things from newspaper.
Conclusion : Newspaper gives us news and views of home and abroad. So we all should read newspaper.
