Introduction : The cow is a very familiar animal to us. It is a four-footed domestic animal. We see cows everywhere in our country.
Description : The cow is a four-footed domestic animal. Her hoofs are divided into two parts. She has two horns, two eyes and two ears. Her body is covered with short fur. Her tail is long. There is a tuft of hair at the end of her tail. She has only one set of teeth in the lower jaw.
Size and colour : Cows are of different sizes and colours. Some cows are white, some are black and some are red.
Where found : The cow is found almost everywhere in the world.
Food : The cow lives on grass, hay and bran. She also eats straw and oil-cake.
Nature : The cow is gentle. It does no harm to anybody. She gives birth to one calf at a time.
Usefulness : The cow gives us milk. Butter, ghee, curd and other things of food are made from her milk. Bullocks draw the cart and plough the field.
Conclusion : The cow is the most useful of all the animals. So we should take care of it.
