A street hawker deals in various things by hawking from street to street. He carries his materials on head and sometimes in hand and sometimes in a small handicraft. He is generally found of big cities and towns especially in railway station, bus stand, bank of river or pond, crowded open place, in front of school and colleges. He generally buys his goods at a cheaper rate and sells them at a good profit. A street hawker is very cunning person. He knows his business very well. His customers are mainly children and women He knows how to draw the attention of his customers. He often utters some interesting words to attract his customers. He both convinces the customers by shaking his hands or parts of body and sells his goods. He sells many things such as bangles, toys, fruits, biscuits, vegetables, cakes, mineral water, soft drinks, ice cream, newspapers, books, chocolates and candy and many other things. A hawker knows the time/hour of his business. He does not come when housemasters are at home. Rather he comes when housemasters are out of home and when women are free from their household work and duties. He sometimes cheats his customers by charging higher price and providing substandard products. Since a street hawker provides us with many necessary things, we should not look down upon him. Despite working hard all day long, a street hawker hardly earns enough to support his family. He earns hardly 80-150 tk daily. He wears dirty and torn shirt with unclean and brushless hair. He sweats all day long. He takes cheap and unhygienic food as a meal to save money. Generally, he does not manage his child to send elementary school but he tries hard. He lives in tin shed or thatched hut with his own or another. As a result, he has to lead his life with difficulties and full of miseries.
