The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is the 1st Bangladeshi geostationary communications and Broadcasting Satellite. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched on 11 May 2018.

We had a journey by train as we wished to spend a few days at Puri during the Puja vacation. We travelled by the Puri Express which left Howrah station half an hour after the scheduled time. We expected the usual pre-Puja rush of passengers. But when we arrived at the station, we noticed, however, that the crowd was not so great.

There is always a buzzing sound at Howrah Station. The passengers stand in a queue to collect their tickets in front of the ticket counters. The station is always crowded with passengers, hawkers and the porters. There are stalls of peddlers, book-sellers and waiting rooms in such large stations.
